Banqer in Grade 3/4

In our classroom we used Banqer to teach financial literacy, and as a behaviour management tool. We find that it is a great program to give students choices about their behaviours as well as rewards and consequences. Students can apply for classroom jobs for which they earn a salary, and they pay rent on their desks. Some students have chosen not to have a job (or have been fired for lack of effort!) and must earn their rent another way. We have in class auctions which the students LOVE, and have even had a real auctioneer come and do one of them from a local agency! Next, we are introducing tax that the students will have to pay in return for the classroom resources.
