Understand the difference between Full time, Part time and Temporary job types.
When setting up jobs within the 'Job Market' of the Careers & Employment module, you'll notice 3 different job types:
Full time and Part time jobs are essentially the same as far as how salaries are paid is concerned. Both can be set to daily or weekly payments. In the case of selecting 'weekly', students will only earn their salaries for jobs assigned after a minimum of 7 days of work. For example, if you accept a student into a position on a Tuesday and have the pay date for that position set for Fridays, their first salary payment would actually be the following week.
So why might you want to set some jobs to Full time and others to Part time? We often see teachers with a variety of class jobs, some not requiring student 'work' on a daily basis. In this case, you might set the job as Part time and the salary lower than your jobs which require student attention everyday.
Temporary jobs differ from the other two options in the fact that salaries are paid as a single lump sum when the duration (number of days) selected elapses. There are no daily or weekly payment options with these types of jobs.
